Purchased by Twitter, TweetDeck allows you to send and receive social media messages. TweetDeck manages social media for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Buzz, Foursquare and MySpace accounts. Using columns to separate and sort the online accounts makes it easier to interact with business contacts, locate new clients or make new friends. You may have messages in Twitter that you want to remove, or perhaps a column gets full and you want to delete messages for easier navigation. It's simple to delete a tweet on TweetDeck.
Open the TweetDeck application. Log in and view your Direct Messages or All Friends column. These are the only columns in which you can delete your own tweets.
Scroll through your tweets to locate the message you want to delete. Depending on the number of your followers, this may take a while.
Move your mouse pointer over your user image in the upper, left-hand corner of the tweet in the applicable column. There are four icons showing when you hover the mouse pointer over the image.
Choose the icon that looks like a sun, which is Other Actions. When other menus appear, select "Tweet" and then "Delete" to remove the message. This is not an available menu choice when you hover over other users in the All Friends column.
You must have a current account or sign up with a specific service to use it in TweetDeck. If you click on a friend who mentions your Twitter username, it takes you to your Twitter profile page in a browser window.
Remember, if your Twitter feed is open to the public, then employers, coworkers and strangers have access to your information. Post responsibly. You can always make your Twitter feed private.
