How to Delete Events on Facebook

Events are occurrences such as a meeting, party or conference that will occur at a set point in the future. Facebook lets you create event pages that other Facebook users can join to indicate their support or attendance. Although event attendees cannot delete or cancel an event, the administrator(s) of the event can do so from their Facebook account.

    Log into your Facebook account on

    Type the name of your event into the Search bar and click it from the list of results.

    Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Remove from my events."

    Notify any other event administrators that they must do the same. The event can only be deleted when all administrators have removed the event from their Facebook profile.

Tips and warnings

  • It is also possible to "cancel" an event instead of deleting it. A cancelled event will leave a notice to all attendees that the event will no longer occur. Any administrator can cancel an event by clicking "Edit Event" on the event page, then selecting the "Cancel Event" option.
