Internet Explorer 8 is a Web browser distributed with the Windows operating system. If the JavaScript on your IE8 browser is slowing down the speed, you can disable the Script Debugging to speed it up. Script Debugging is used to display pages that have errors on them. This can dramatically slow down your browser. Once you turn off the script debugging for your IE8 browser, you will notice the speed increase.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Click the "Start" button and then click the "IE8" icon from the menu.

  2. 2

Click on the "Tools" icon at the top of the menu and then click the "Internet Options" icon from the list of "Tools."

  3. 3

Click on the "Advanced" option and check the box next to "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and the box next to "Disable script debugging (other)."

  4. 4

Uncheck the box next to "Display a notification about every script error" and click the "OK" button to save your settings.
