Android is an operating system created by Google for mobile phones. As Google is the developer of this system, Android phones are natively compatible with Google Mail accounts. However, many people with Gmail accounts may also have e-mail accounts with other providers. One popular, free e-mail provider is Hotmail, a service provided by Microsoft. If you have a Hotmail account and an Android phone, you can set up your phone to interact with Hotmail's incoming and outgoing e-mail servers.
