Bullets can be a great way to organise series of text. Many designers use bullets to create easy-to-read lists in documents such as spec sheets, posters and brochures. Although this may be an important feature for many illustrations, Adobe has not included an automatic bullet feature like Adobe InDesign has with Illustrator CS4. However, you can manually add bullets to your text using the glyph panel.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

    Select the "Type" tool.

  2. 2

Click where you want to position the text to create point type or draw a text frame where you want to position area type.

  3. 3

Click on "Window" and hover over "Type." Select "Glyph" to open the glyph panel.

  4. 4

Make sure that "Entire Font" is selected in the "Show" drop-down menu.

  5. 5

Select the desired font and style from the drop-down menus at the bottom of the panel.

  6. 6

Navigate to the desired bullet in the glyph panel. Double-click on the bullet to add it to the text.
