How to Use VLC as the Default Embedded Flash Player

When looking through various web pages on the Internet, you will come across embedded flash media links. These links allow you to view and listen to a variety of audio and video files. When you select the link, the media file opens in your default media player. If you wish to watch the media files exclusively in VideoLan's VLC media player, simply set up that preference in your default program settings.

    Click the "Start" button (the Windows logo on the lower-left-hand side of the desktop taskbar).

    Click "Default Programs" in the sub-menu that pops up.

    Select "Set Your Default Programs."
