New Dell flat-screen monitors use less space than the old cathode ray tube (CRT) models which sat like large monoliths on our desks. To save even more space, the base of many Dell monitors may be removed and a mount installed instead. A VESA mount can be used to attach the Dell monitor to the wall. Some mounts have long arms that allow you to move the screen in different directions, while some are limited to tilting forward and backward. Choose the mount that is right for you.

  1. 1

Run a stud finder along the desired installation wall until it beeps or lights up, depending on your model. Mark the location of the stud.

  2. 2

Measure the spacing of the mounting holes on the back of the monitor with a measuring tape. Use the measurement to order your VESA mount.

  3. 3

Attach the mounting plate to the stud in the wall, using the screws provided with the kit.

  4. 4

Attach the VESA brackets to the back of the Dell monitor, inserting the screws into the mounting holes.

  5. 5

Lift the monitor up and clip the mounting brackets into the wall.
