The open-source media player, VLC from Videolan, can play most standard audio and video formats, which makes it a useful program for people who do not want to switch between media players to play different types of media. You can open almost any individual piece of audio on your computer in VLC. Unlike iTunes or Windows Media Player, you do not need to import songs into the player's library before they will play. You can also open an entire folder in VLC and have the audio files play in order.
