Teach children how to cook without ever stepping into the kitchen. Plan a paper pizza craft to educate children on kitchen safety. The craft has less of the mess of making a real pizza with all of the fun. Show the children how to make the fake pizza before allowing them to try to make one on their own. Once they master this craft, they can assist with making a real pizza in the kitchen.
Cut a large circle from brown construction paper for the pizza crust.
Cut out other toppings from the construction paper such as pepperoni, olives and peppers.
Dip the paintbrush into the tempera paint and spread the fake sauce around the dough. Tempera paint is very opaque and mimics the look of real pizza sauce. Even after it dries, it will hold its sauce characteristics and not crack like other paints.
Add the toppings to the paper pizza before the paint dries.
Allow the paint to dry. Once it is dry, the pizza is ready to enjoy.
