Team Fortress 2, or TF2, is a multiplayer computer and console game from Valve Corporation. The PC version of Team Fortress 2 requires users to use Steam, a gaming platform application from Valve, to download and play the game. When installing Team Fortress 2, Steam creates Game Cache Files (GCF) on the user's hard drive. Those files contain most of the resources your computer needs to run Team Fortress 2. Fortunately, these files are easy to locate.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Click on the Windows "Start" icon at the bottom left of your screen. Select the "Computer" option.

  2. 2

    Double-click on the "C:" partition.

  3. 3

Double-click on the "Program Files" directory. If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows, double-click on "Program Files(x86)" instead.

  4. 4

Double-click on the "Steam" directory, and then double-click on the "steamapps" directory. Scroll down the list of files in that directory until you find "team fortress 2 client content.gcf," "team fortress 2 content.gcf" and "team fortress 2 materials.gcf." These are your Team Fortress 2 GCF files.
