If you've gone over your wedding reception budget, opt for paper instead of linen napkins. Paper napkins can look just as elegant as their cloth counterparts when neatly folded. As a special touch, choose paper napkins that match your wedding reception colours. Having the napkins printed with the event details, such as the bride and groom's names and date, is another way to customise paper napkins. After folding the napkins, elegantly arrange silverware on top of them.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Open the napkin completely. Place the napkin on a flat surface in front of you. Smooth the napkin with your hand to remove any creases or wrinkles.

  2. 2

Fold the napkin in half horizontally, with the open end facing you.

  3. 3

Fold the napkin in half vertically, with the open side facing to the right.

  4. 4

Bring the right third of the napkin in toward the centre. Fold the left third of the napkin over so its edge meets the right crease. Turn the napkin over to complete the fold.
