How to Edit the Untitled Part of Tumblr
Give your blog a fun name that describes its content. (Thinkstock Images/Comstock/Getty Images)

The custom designs and names of your favourite Tumblr blogs didn't get that way by accident. When you sign up for a Tumblr account, you're given a generic blog design and blank user photo. If you don't tell Tumblr what you want to appear in those spaces, you'll be stuck with no profile photo and a blog called "Untitled." Fortunately, it's simple to customise the title and other aspects of your Tumblr page.

Instructions

  1. 1

Log in to your Tumblr dashboard, then click "Customize."

  2. 2

Click the "Info" tab if it doesn't automatically pop up.

  3. 3

Enter your desired blog title in the "Title" field. This is different from your username and blog URL; the Title will appear at the top of your blog home page and in your browser's title bar.

  4. 4

Click "Save" or "Save + Close" to apply the changes.

Tips and warnings

  • Want to customise your blog even more? Check out the "Themes" section on Tumblr. Most themes are free, and many can be configured with custom colours and background images.
