If you are looking for an easy yet still educational rainy-day activity for your children, then consider crafting paper circle and heart clock pendulums together. You can complete this project using basic arts and crafts supplies you already have. Simply bring out the craft paper, glue, glitter glue pens and scissors. As you craft your pendulum, explain the importance of this clock piece in keeping time.

  1. 1

Place your piece of craft paper on your workspace. Using a pencil, draw a free-form heart or circle about the size of your hand. You also can use a template -- such as a wooden circle or heart medallion from a craft store.

  2. 2

Cut out the circle or heart.

  3. 3

Decorate your paper pendulum face using markers, coloured pencils and even glitter glue pens. Be creative. Allow your artwork to dry.

  4. 4

Turn the paper pendulum head over, and squeeze a half-dime-sized amount of glue near the top of the pendulum.

  5. 5

Cut a 12-inch piece of ribbon with a pair of scissors. Place one end of the ribbon in the glue. Allow the glue to dry.

  6. 6

Hang your paper pendulums around your house -- on a holiday tree, across a door frame or window, up the banister of the staircase.
