How to Set Up the Wireless on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop

Updated July 20, 2017

Nearly all laptops produced by Toshiba in the Satellite series have wireless capabilities built in. The Toshiba Satellite laptop receives its wireless capability from a tiny expansion card installed inside the computer. This card has two or more wires connected to it that run throughout the computer to act as an antenna for better wireless reception. You can set up the wireless on the Toshiba Satellite laptop to participate on nearby wireless networks.

Click the wireless network icon in the lower right corner of the screen, next to the clock. This icon shows a set of empty bars with an orange star in the middle.

Click the wireless network with the strongest signal, which is represented with the most green bars.

Click the "Connect" button.

Enter the wireless password, or WEP key, if prompted.

If the wireless function on the Toshiba laptop is disabled, hold the "Fn" key and press "F8" to enable it before trying to connect.
