Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) batteries are found inside many laptop computers, including the Evo N610C. The battery stores important system information such as time, date and hardware settings. Typically, a CMOS battery lasts for around 10 years, but excessive laptop use can wear the battery down quickly. You can find CMOS laptops online, at hardware stores or even at pharmacies. These batteries are small and round and look like the batteries you find in a watch.

  1. 1

Power off your Evo N610C if it is running. Detach the AC adaptor from the laptop.

  2. 2

Turn over the Evo N610c laptop so its bottom faces you.

  3. 3

Locate the Mini PCL Compartment Cover, located next to the laptop's main battery. Remove the screws of this cover using a Phillips head screwdriver.

  4. 4

Grasp the edge of the cover and pry the cover off the laptop. Look at the batteries within this cover. There is a larger Lithium battery in addition to the small, round CMOS battery.

  5. 5

Pry the lithium battery from the Evo N610c using plastic tweezers.

  6. 6

Remove the CMOS battery using the plastic tweezers. Determine its voltage and size by looking at the label. Most batteries are 3 volts, 12mm in diameter and 2.5mm thick.

  7. 7

Slide the new CMOS battery into place. Replace the lithium battery using tweezers and replace the Mini PCL Compartment Cover.
