How to Write a Sweet Letter to Your Boyfriend

Updated February 21, 2017

A sweet, romantic letter will let your boyfriend know that you're thinking of him and value your relationship, whether you're presenting the written gift for his birthday, Valentine's Day, or "just because." Personalise your letter by recalling pleasant memories the two of you have shared, or detailing specific characteristics that you love about your sweetie.

Begin the letter by telling your boyfriend how happy you've been since he entered your life. Share with him that you have a new appreciation for life due to the happiness the two of you share.

Use a calligraphy pen to make the letter classy and elegant, or type your sentiments in a fancy font.

Write a few details about the first time you knew you were in love with your boyfriend to remind him of this special time in your relationship. Recall where you went on a date when you looked into his eyes and realised he was the one for you, or a phone conversation the two of you had that let you know that you really wanted to be with him.

Describe the physical and personality traits that attract you to your boyfriend. Mention the way you love to see him smile, or how you think his eyes are beautiful. Remind him that aside from his physical attractiveness, you admire his caring nature and willingness to help those in need, or his ability to make you laugh when you're having a bad day.

Mention the special occasion (if there is one) and let your boyfriend know that you love him more on this holiday than you did the last, or that you're happy to be celebrating your first Valentine's Day or Christmas together. Or, state in the letter that you just wanted to write and let him know how much you love him, and feel that it's important to share this with him often.

Conclude your sweet letter with a phrase like "Love Always," or with the pet name he calls you. Place the stationery paper in the printer if you've typed the letter, and print the letter.

Spray the letter with the scent of perfume you wear that he likes best for a romantic touch that further personalises the note.

Place the scented letter in an envelope to present or mail to your boyfriend.
