Counter-Strike 1.6 is a computer game that is still widely played even though it has been out since 2003. Counter-Strike is played against bots or other humans on servers over the Internet. To connect to different servers, you can perform in-game searches based on search parameters or you can enter a specific IP address to get to a specific server.
Open the Steam client to run Counter-Strike. Click on the "Library" tab of the Steam client and then click "Play" next to Counter-Strike 1.6.
Press the "~" button on the top left of your keyboard to open up the "Console" inside Counter-Strike.
Type in "connect" and then the IP address you want to connect to. The IP address should consist of a sequence of nine to 12 numbers followed by a colon and a second sequence of five more numbers. For example, "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx." Hit "Enter" once you entered the IP address and you will be connected to the server.
The "Find Servers" option within Counter-Strike sometimes does not work as well as other places on the Internet fir finding up-to-date information on servers.
