Parcel post is a type of mail shipment provided by the United States Postal Service (USPS). When you mail a package or letter as parcel post and opt to obtain additional shipping options such as delivery confirmation or signature confirmation you will receive a tracking number for your parcel post package. This number allows you to track the package online using the USPS' tracking service.

Get the tracking number of your package off of the receipt you were given at the post office when you mailed your package.

Go online and visit the USPS website. Locate the "Track and Confirm" link on the USPS website and click on it.

Enter the tracking number located on your shipment receipt into the box provided. Click "Track." View the results of your shipment. Typically, shipment information is not available until 24 hours after your package is mailed. Tracking information shows where your package is and its estimated date of delivery.
