The Kindle, the top-selling item on Amazon.com at the time of publication, is an electronic reader that allows users to carry 3,500 or more books on one device. The main purpose of the Kindle is displaying books, but it also includes other benefits like Web access. You can easily access your Hotmail account and view your e-mail directly on your Kindle screen.
Slide the switch on the bottom-right side of the Kindle to turn the power on.
Press the "Menu" button. A short menu pops up on the right side of the screen.
Move the five-way directional controller downward until the final menu option, "Experimental," is underlined. Press the centre of the five-way directional controller to select "Experimental." Wait for the Experimental screen to load.
Select the "Launch Browser" option, if it is not already underlined, and press the centre of the five-way directional controller. A new menu pops up on the right side of the screen.
Select "Bookmarks" using the controller, then press the centre of the directional controller to open the Bookmarks menu.
Move the controller downward until "Yahoo!" or "Google" is underlined. Either of these two Web browsers can access Hotmail.
Type "Hotmail" or "Hotmail Login" into the search field. Click the five-way directional controller once to the right to highlight "Search" and press the centre of the controller to initiate the search. The search results may take a few moments to load.
Click the link for the Hotmail login page by pressing the centre of the five-way controller. Type your Hotmail e-mail address, including the "@hotmail.com" part, into the provided field.
Click downward with the directional controller to highlight the "Password" field. Type your Hotmail password into the provided field.
Highlight "Login" and press the centre of the directional controller. Highlight "Inbox" and click the centre of the directional controller to load your Hotmail inbox. Navigate through your Hotmail inbox using the five-way directional controller.
