Things you need
- Extra wide craft ribbon, approximately six inches in width
- Fabric paint
- Hot glue gun
- Safety pin
Drape the extra wide craft ribbon over the shoulder of the beauty queen and measure the length of ribbon needed to reach across her chest, from her shoulder to her waist below her opposite arm, and around her back to meet at her shoulder again. Cut the ribbon to the appropriate length.
Trim both ends of the ribbon at a 45 degree angle. The angle can be cut in either direction, but must be cut in the same direction on each end. Fold the ribbon in half lengthwise and crease the fold. The 45-degree angle cuts in the two ends should match up evenly. Lay the ribbon down in front of you on your work area.
Use fabric paint to paint the name of your beauty queen, such as "Miss America" or "Little Miss America" on the front of the beauty sash. Allow the paint to dry completely.
Trace the outline of the letters with a thin bead of glue from the hot glue gun. While the glue is still hot, sprinkle glitter over the glue. Hot glue dries fairly quickly so it is recommended to do one letter at a time. Shake off the excess glitter creating a sparkly glitter border around the letters.
Drape the beauty sash over the shoulder of the beauty queen and pin it in place near her waist with the safety pin.
