- 2 cake mixes
- 3 rectangular 11-by-7 inch cake pans
- Vegetable oil spray
- Wire racks
- Dark brown buttercream icing

- Letter stencil
- Gold lustre dust
- Lemon juice
Prepare two cake mixes in a large mixing bowl according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
Spray the sides and bottoms of three 11-by-7-inch rectangular cake pans with a vegetable oil pan spray. Coat the pans with a sprinkling of flour.
Pour the batter into the three cake pans, filling each pan to approximately 2/3 of the way full. Bake the cakes according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
Remove the cakes from the oven and leave them in the pans to cool for 20 to 30 minutes. Gently release the cakes from the pan and place them on wire racks to cool. The wire racks help keep moisture from building up on the bottom of the cakes.
Cover the top of two of the cakes with buttercream icing and stack all three cakes on top of each other, with the un-iced cake on top. Transfer the stacked cakes onto the centre of a plastic or glass cake tray.
Spread a thin layer of dark brown buttercream icing on the entire cake and place the cake in the refrigerator to let the icing firm for 20 to 30 minutes.
Place the cake on a flat surface and apply a thick layer of dark brown buttercream icing over the entire cake. Smooth the icing over the sides with an icing smoother.
Measure the height of the cake and minus 1 inch from this measurement. Cut a piece of waxed paper to this height that is long enough to wrap all the way around the cake. Wrap the waxed paper around the cake.
Spread another thick layer of dark brown buttercream icing over the top of the cake and the first inch of the sides of the cake. Smooth the icing. Remove the waxed paper carefully.
Fill a cake airbrush machine with a metallic gold or bronze airbrush colour. Spray the colour over the entire cake.
Roll out a sheet of yellow fondant to a thickness of approximately 1/10-inch. Place a letter stencil over the fondant and trace the letters "GUCCI" onto the fondant. Remove the stencil and cut out the letters with a sharp knife. Place the letters on a piece of waxed paper.
Mix a spoonful of gold lustre dust and some lemon juice to make a watery mixture. Paint the letters in the mixture with a paintbrush. Let the letters dry for 20 minutes. Place the letters on the centre of the box cake.
