How to Install an Iomega Z100P2
A Zip disc is notably thicker than a floppy disc. ( Images)

The Iomega Z100P2 is an external Zip drive for use with a personal computer. Zip drives are designed to read Zip discs, a contemporary of the floppy disc that holds 100 MB. Zip drives are not a very efficient way to store data these days, since external hard drives typically hold between 250 GB and 1 TB, and flash drives typically hold between 1 GB and 16 GB. If you have old legacy Zip discs, however, you may decide to install the Iomega Z100P2 to access that data.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Plug in your Iomega Z100P2 to the USB port of your computer. The Iomega Z100P2 is a "plug and play" device, so the drivers should install themselves automatically.

  2. 2

Locate the Iomega Z100P2 driver on the Internet if the device does not install automatically (see Resources).

  3. 3

Download the Iomega Z100P2 driver from the website.

  4. 4

Run the driver software and follow all installation instructions.

  5. 5

Power on the Iomega Z100P2 after the drivers have installed.
