The iPhone 3Gs uses 3G signals which are much faster than older technologies like GPRS and Edge, but there's a catch --- 3G drains your battery faster. Calls, texts, and even browsing are all still possible with 3G blocked or disabled, so users who prioritise battery life over download speeds should consider blocking 3G signals on their iPhones.
