How to Change the Combination on a TSA003 Lock

Written by jon stefansson | 13/05/2017

The TSA003 is a widely-recognised luggage lock that Transport Security Administration officials can open using a special key during luggage screenings or other security searches. The lock opens upon entering a four-digit code using its four rotating dials. It's recommended you change your TSA003 combination for maximum security if someone outside your circle of trust discovers the code during travel. You need your existing TSA003 combination before making changes to your lock combination.

Spin the dials, top to bottom, until your four-digit combination lines up with the white markers. The lock opens.

Spin the shackle 180 degrees until the small metal fin lines up with the groove on the lock body. The lock is in the reset position.

Enter your new combination code, top to bottom, lining all four digits up with the white markers.

Turn the shackle back above the locking hole. Your new combination is ready for use.
