How to Connect a Laptop Via HDMI to a Panasonic TC-32LX60

Updated July 20, 2017

The high definition multimedia interface, or HDMI, cable is used with many high-definition television sets as a means of receiving video and audio from cable boxes, Blu-ray players and gaming consoles. Another type of device that can be connected to HDTVs are HDMI-capable laptops. When the laptop is connected, you can use your television's screen as an external monitor. In the case of the Panasonic TC-32LX60 HDTV, the 32-inch HDTV panel is a perfect size for use as a second computer monitor.

Turn on both the laptop and the Panasonic HDTV.

Locate the HDMI input port on the rear of the Panasonic HDTV and insert one of the ends of the HDMI cable into it.

Insert the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI output port on the laptop and the laptop screen will flicker. You will now see the laptop's screen contents displayed on both the laptop and the HDTV screen.
