The main difference between an anime female and male body is the chest and the hips. The male chest is larger and shaped like a barrel. The female chest is oval and tapers down. The male legs and arms are thicker and more angular than the female's. Facial features are one of the best way to distinguish male from female, such as adding eyelashes for the female along with keeping the limbs lean and curvy instead of thick and angular.

Instructions

    Female

  1. 1

Draw an action line to determine the action of the figure; for example, if the figure is standing the action line will be vertical. Add basic shapes to represent body parts such as an egg shape for the head and circles for the hands and joints like knees.

  2. 2

Create an oval shape for the female chest and hips. Have the oval shape taper down towards the hips. Use cylinders for hands and triangles for the feet.

  3. 3

Add definition and details to the body form keeping the limbs lean and curvy.

  4. 4

Draw in the hair, having it rest above the skull and treated it as one large area. Use a second shape for the female hair, if creating a ponytail.

  5. 5

Add eye lashes to the female's eyes. Add clothing, remembering to leave a bit of room between the clothing and body.
