How to Enable Bidirectional Communications on a Canon iP2600 Printer

Updated February 21, 2017

Bidirectional printer support allows your computer and your printer to communicate seamlessly with one another. This makes it easier to do everything from install new printer drivers to diagnose problems with your printer set-up and operation. If you own a Canon iP2600 or use one at the office, you can enable this bidirectional support within the Printer Properties.

Log onto your computer and click the "Start" button. Select "Control Panel" from the menu.

Double-click the "Printers and Faxes" option. Right-click on the Canon iP2600 printer and choose "Properties."

Check the box that says "Enable bidirectional support." Click "OK" to confirm your setting.
