How to Check If Adobe Products Are Registered

When you purchase an Adobe product, you have an opportunity to register the software with Adobe. Registering the product qualifies you to receive updates, announcements, information about events and even offers from Adobe. Registration is not the same as activation, which is required before you can use your software. To find out if you have registered your Adobe software, you can enter the serial number from your product on the Adobe website to check.

    Open a Web browser, and visit the Adobe registration page at

    Click on "Logout" in the top right corner of the page, if you are logged into the system. If you are already logged out of the system, skip this step.

    Input your Adobe product serial number into the "Serial Number" field. You can usually find the serial number on the back cover of the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM jewel case, if you purchased the product at a retail location; you may also find it in the order confirmation e-mail from the Adobe Store, if you purchased the product online. The serial number is a 24-digit number separated by dashes.

    Click "Continue." If "Adobe ID and Passwords Do Not Match" appears below the "Adobe ID/Email" field, then the product is not registered. If "This Serial Number Has Already Been Registered" appears below the "Serial Number" field or if you arrive at a blue screen that reads "Error Occurred While Processing Request," then the product is already registered.
