How to turn off the safe search filter in flickr

Updated April 17, 2017

Flickr's SafeSearch filter is designed to protect you from images you might not want to see online, but if you're not at work and don't have children using your computer you might not want your search results to be censored. If you choose, you can remove SafeSearch from your Flickr account to view all content on Flickr. If you remove the SafeSearch filter, you are also confirming that you are 18 or older and take full responsibility for images you may see.

Navigate to Flickr.com and log in to your account.

Click the link for your user name in the top-right corner of your home page to access your account settings.

Click the "Privacy & Permissions" tab and scroll down to the "Content Filter" heading.

Click the "Edit" link next to "Search Settings."

Click "SafeSearch Off" and then click the "Save Settings" button to apply your changes to your account. Your searches on Flickr will now yield unfiltered results.
