Although it's possible to play "Microsoft Flight Simulator (FSX)" with the mouse and keyboard, you will not be able to manoeuvre aircraft as accurately as you can with a joystick. The advanced and expert missions are very difficult to pass without a precision controller (yoke or joystick) and even basic manoeuvres such as steep turns, coordinated turns and landings are made easier with a joystick. "Microsoft Flight Simulator (FSX)" supports a variety of joysticks and allows you to change almost every keybinding option available.
