How to Change a Steam Password Without an Email

Installing Steam on your computer or computers lets you play any game in your library anytime or anywhere you want. All you need is the Steam client, Internet access and a Steam account. Your Steam account is protected by a user name/password combination. Normally, you need to be able to access your e-mail to change your password. With a little help from Steam support, you can change passwords without an e-mail address.

    Open Steam.

    Select "Steam," then "Settings" from the main menu to open the "Settings" dialogue box.

    Select the "Account" tab.

    Click "Change Password or Secret Question" to open the Change Password Wizard.

    Select "I want to change my password."

    Click "Next."

    Type your current password in the "Enter your current password" field.

    Click "Next." Normally, you would receive an e-mail address with a confirmation code in it. In this case, minimise Steam.

    Open a Web browser.

    Contact Steam Support to get a new confirmation code.

    Restore Steam and enter the confirmation code Steam Support gave you.

    Enter your new password in the "Enter new password" and confirmation fields.

    Click "Next" to open a confirmation dialogue.

  14. 14

    Confirm your information is correct.
