How to customize a soundcloud player

SoundCloud is a music streaming and download website recently named by Mashable one of the 10 best online resources for free, legal music. It offers a player you can embed in your website or blog. Customising the player is a relatively simple procedure, letting you change the colour and style of the player.

    Click "Share" on the track you wish to customise.

    Click "Customize Player."

    Click on the colour wheel to choose the colour of the player. The preview above will automatically update, so you can keep clicking new colours to find the one you want.

    Check the "Show track comments" box to have comments displayed with the player. By default, this is checked.

    Check the "Play automatically" box to have it begin as soon as someone loads your web page. By default, this is not checked.

  6. 6

    Copy the code at the bottom to embed in your website. It will contain all the customisations you made above.

Tips and warnings

  • Users who upgrade to SoundCloud's paid service get additional customisation options, including the ability to change the player's size and add artwork.
