Whether you're going to a costume party or feel like dressing up for an afternoon of Legend of Zelda, you can create a Link hat in hardly any time at all. With simple cotton fabric and a just few stitches, you will have a hat closely resembling that of your favourite Nintendo character.

  1. 1

Wrap the tape measure around your head to determine the size your hat will need to be. If you plan on wearing a wig with the hat, you will need to measure your head while you are wearing the wig.

  2. 2

Draw two triangles three feet in length on your fabric with your tailor chalk. The base of each triangle should be about a half inch longer than half the width of your head to allow room for stitching. Cut the triangles out of the fabric.

  3. 3

Sew the two sides together. The fabric should be sewn inside-out so the stitching doesn't show when you wear it.

  4. 4

Turn your hat right-side-in and you're done. If you need help keeping it on your head, use hair clips or hair clips to secure it.

Tips and warnings

  • For a more authentic look, use a moleskin suede fabric.
