"Through the Looking Glass" is a classic children's story. The Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum characters are comical little characters within the story. In the original Disney movie, Alice in Wonderland, Tweedle Dee and his twin wear matching outfits that can be easily re-created into a child's costume. This costume is ideally paired with another of the same for someone dressing up as Tweedle Dum.
- Skill level:
- Moderately Easy
Things you need
- Oversized yellow shirt
- Oversized red trousers
- Plastic toy hoop
- White fabric
- Black embroidery ribbon and needle
- Colourful bow tie
- Propeller hat
Sew a plastic hoop into the waist of the trousers. This will create a large, round belly similar to that of the Tweedle Dee character. You can do this by hand sewing the hoop in. Sew a few stitches around the hoop, connecting it to the inner portion of the waistband every few inches all the way around.
Sew an oversized yellow shirt and the trousers together at the waistline.
Create a collar using white fabric and embroider the name "Tweedle Dee" onto one edge. Cut two oversized triangles out of the fabric and use one triangle for each side of the collar. Sew the triangle pieces onto the neckline of your yellow shirt for the collar.
Add accessories. Tweedle Dee wears a blue bow tie and red hat with a flag coming out the top. Create a similar look by donning a colourful bow tie and wearing a propeller hat.
