How to Replace a Mercedes C Blower Motor

Updated July 20, 2017

The blower motor on your Mercedes-Benz C-class vehicle is located underneath the dashboard on the passenger side. Once you remove the screws, you can remove the blower motor from the blower unit and install a replacement. Although the blower motor is not necessary for operating your vehicle, it makes driving your C-class vehicle a lot more comfortable in the warmer months. The entire replacement procedure should only take half an hour.

Lift up the bonnet of the vehicle and use a socket wrench to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

Open the passenger-side door. Remove the three screws securing the kick panel underneath the glove box. Remove the kick panel.

Remove the five screws securing the blower to the vehicle.

Disconnect the blower's electrical connector and remove it from the vehicle.

Pull the motor from the blower assembly and install a replacement motor.

Reattach the blower assembly to the vehicle and reinstall the five screws. Reconnect the blower's electrical connector.

Reattach the kick panel and its screws and reconnect the battery. Close the bonnet.
