The AVG security suite includes a Firefox add-on called "Safe Search." When active, Safe Search scans your search results from engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing, and indicates next to each result whether AVG considers the linked-to website to be malware free. If AVG Safe Search conflicts with your other Firefox add-ons, or if you do not want it for some other reason, you can easily remove it.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Press "Alt" to reveal the Firefox menus, if necessary.

  2. 2

Click the "Tools" menu, and then select "Add-ons."

  3. 3

Click the "Extensions" panel and then select "AVG Safe Search" from the list.

  4. 4

    Select "Uninstall."

  5. 5

    Close Firefox, then restart it.
