The Panasonic Viera plasma television allows users to watch programming in high-definition quality. The Viera comes in an array of sizes, takes up little space with its flat-screen design and features several picture quality controls. Besides the basic picture settings ("Brightness," "Tint" and "Color"), the Viera includes advanced settings to accommodate specific video components. Access the picture controls with the remote control so you can fine-tune the components of the Viera screen.

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control to access the Viera main menu. Push the "Selector" key down to highlight "Picture," then push the "OK" key in the centre of the "Selector" key to open the submenu.

  2. 2

Press the "Selector" button down to highlight "Reset," which restores all picture settings to the default settings. Press "OK."

  3. 3

Press the "Selector" button down to highlight "Picture Mode" and select from the displayed presets: "Vivid" for enhanced contrast and sharpness; "Standard" for a normal picture in low lighting; "Studio Ref" for a cinema experience; "Game" for video games; or "Photo" for pictures.

  4. 4

Press the "Selector" button down to highlight "Brightness," "Picture," "Color," "Tint" or "Sharpness." Navigate to the left or right to decrease or increase the qualities of these five settings.

  5. 5

Press the "Selector" button down to highlight "Color Temp" and choose from the following settings: "Normal" for normal whites, "Cool" for a bluish tint to the overall picture or "Warm" for a reddish tint to the overall picture.

  6. 6

Press the "Selector" button down to highlight "Color Mgmt," to turn colour management on or off. Turn it on to enhance the blues and greens of outdoor scenes.

  7. 7

Press the "Selector" button down to highlight "Digital Cinema Color," which aligns the colour gamut of the incoming video signal to the colour gamut of the Viera screen. "Digital Cinema Color" can be set to "Auto," "On" or "Off."

  8. 8

Press the "Selector" button down to highlight "Advanced Settings," and press the "Selector" key to the right to select "3D Y/C Filter." Press the "Selector" button down to highlight "Advanced Settings," and press the "Selector" key to the right to select "24p Direct In."
