VLC Media Player is a free media player that supports a wide variety of video and audio codecs. If you open a movie or television show in the media player, you can place the player in Fullscreen Mode to see more clearly what is happening on the screen. When you place VLC Media Player in Fullscreen Mode, the only toolbar or taskbar that is still displayed is the taskbar with the volume and basic controls. If this taskbar is wearing out its welcome, you can remove it.

Instructions

  1. 1

Open VLC Media Player; open the video you want to view using the player.

  2. 2

Double-click the screen to put VLC Media Player in Fullscreen Mode. The Menu taskbar disappears, but the taskbar with the basic controls still shows up along the bottom of the screen. If the Menu toolbar still appears along the top of the screen, double-click the screen again to remove that toolbar. However, the taskbar with the basic controls still shows up along the bottom of the screen.

  3. 3

Move your mouse to either the extreme-right or the extreme-bottom edge of the screen, removing it from view. Stop moving the mouse. A few seconds after you stop moving the mouse the taskbar along the bottom of the screen will disappear. The taskbar will appear if the mouse is moved, and it will disappear again after the mouse has stopped moving for a few seconds.
