"Adventure Time" is an American television cartoon, which airs on the Cartoon Network. The two main characters are Finn, a boy, and Jake, a magical dog. The animation is simple as are the costumes. Finn wears blue shorts, a blue shirt and a white hat. The dog does not have an outfit but does wear glasses. Constructing the costumes needed for these characters can be done inexpensively, as the costumes are not elaborate.

Instructions

  1. 1

Make Finn's costume. Finn wears black running shoes that you can buy at a charity shop, if the child already does not have them. Finn wears dark blue shorts and a light blue top. Dark blue jean shorts work and a light blue T-shirt can mimic this outfit. Finn's costume also includes a green backpack that you can purchase.

  2. 2

Make Finn's hat. His white hat is somewhat unique, as it covers his whole head like a ski mask or balaclava. The whole head is covered in a white balaclava, but Finn's entire face is exposed. Finn's hat has two rounded ears on it. Purchase a white balaclava and cut out two semicircles from white construction paper (8 cm (3 inches) in height) and tape them to the sides of the balaclava.

  3. 3

Purchase tan trousers with a matching tan long sleeve shirt. Jake is a dog with floppy ears. Cut a 5-cm (2-inch) strip of tan construction paper and tape it around the child's head like a bandanna. Cut two large floppy dog ears from the construction paper and tape them to the sides of the bandanna.

  4. 4

Pop out the lenses from an old pair of reading glasses. Alternatively, purchase stage glasses that have a glass lens. These will be Jake's glasses.

  5. 5

Paint the child's nose with black face paint and give the child some whiskers as well.
