How to Find Out Ink Levels on an HP F2400

Updated February 21, 2017

The HP Deskjet F2400 is a thermal inkjet all-in-one printer, scanner and copier that prints via two ink cartridges -- a tricolour cartridge and a black cartridge. Whether you need to find out the ink levels to confirm you have enough ink for a print job or because of print quality issues, HP makes it simple to see estimated ink levels with its HP Solution Center.

Open the HP Solution Center by double-clicking the HP Solution Center icon on the desktop or Windows taskbar; or by opening it via the Start menu -- click the "Start" button or icon, go to "All Programs," then "HP" and then "HP Solution Center."

Click "Settings" when the HP Solution Center window opens. Click "Printer Toolbox" under Printer Settings.

Select the "Estimated Ink Levels" tab to reveal the estimated ink levels as two gauges -- tricolour ink on the left and black ink on the right. You'll see two graphic representations as vertical bars.
