There are many different ways to create a whistling sound with your mouth. Some ways are easier than others. One way involves grabbing the bottom lip. The bottom lip whistle will enable you to create a short but very high pitched sound. The first few times you attempt to do a bottom lip whistle, you may notice a wet, slurping sound. This is due to saliva.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Lick the front of your bottom teeth.

  2. 2

Place the thumb and index finger just below the bottom lip, approximately 1/8 inch from the corners of your mouth.

  3. 3

Pinch your thumb and index finger together, and gently pull the bottom lip away from the teeth. Do not pull so far as to cause any pain.

  4. 4

Suck in a forceful breath through the bottom teeth. Continue to suck until you hear a high-pitched whistle.
