How to Do a Factory Reset on an ASUS RT-N16

A factory reset wipes out any personal settings or passwords installed. This will return the router to its original settings when it left the factory. A regular reset is performed when there are basic connection issues, allowing the router to re-sync with other devices.The ASUS RT-N16 wireless router comes with its own CPU. This multifunctional router works as storage, a media server and a print server. It has three external antennas and wireless N technology and weighs barely over one pound.

Press the "Reset" button for five to 10 seconds. The "Reset" button is located at the back of the router.

Release the "Reset" button. The power light will shut off, flicker and then remain on.

Pull the power cord out of the router or from the outlet.

Wait five seconds. Reconnect the power cord.
