Creating presentations for both home and office use is fairly easy when you use a presentation program such as Microsoft's PowerPoint 2010. PowerPoint gives you control over every aspect of your presentation. If you're trying to meet a minimum or maximum number of words, you can do a word count in PowerPoint 2010 by following a few steps.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Open the PowerPoint file. Click the "Office" button and select Open to launch the Open window. Use the arrows in the navigation bar to locate the folder in which the PPT file is saved. Double-click the file name to open it.

  2. 2

Click the File tab. Locate the pane farthest to the left. Click "Info." This action will open a separate pane in PowerPoint.

  3. 3

Click the Show All Properties option. You'll see the word count in the Words property section.
