Recently, Netflix introduced the addition of subtitles and closed captioning for select titles on the Watch Instantly library of streaming movies and TV shows. As of February 2011, approximately 30 per cent of the Netflix Watch Instantly library titles have subtitles, though Netflix hopes to have up to 80 per cent available by the end of the year. If you are watching one of these select titles and want to turn the subtitles off, it's as easy as pressing a button on your Netflix video player.

Log in to your Netflix account.
Access the Netflix streaming title that is displaying subtitles.
Click the "Subtitles" button, located between the Volume and Full Screen buttons on the Netflix video player.
Select "Off" from the list of languages that appears.
Continue enjoying your video without subtitles. To turn them back on, simply follow the same steps and select the language you wish to display.
Tips and warnings
- Most foreign movies currently on the Netflix Watch Instantly library have English subtitles that are encoded directly into the video. You will not be able to remove these subtitles.
