Grab the hook with one hand. Don't press against the hook base, just hold onto it. Grab the 3M Command Tape strip with the other hand. Pull and stretch the tape straight down. The hook should release from the wall without leaving any residue.
Plug a hair dryer in, if you need to remove a 3M Command Strip that has a broken tape strip. Set it to "Medium" heat. Hold the dryer over the base of the hook for approximately 20 to 30 seconds to soften the glue.
Cut off a 1-foot-long piece of dental floss. Wrap the ends around your forefingers on each hand like you are about to floss your teeth.
Hold the dental floss above the hook base of the 3M Command Strip, right next to the wall. Pull the floss down and see-saw it back and forth to work it in behind the base. Continue to pull the floss down through the tape to release it from the wall. If any of the strip tape remains, pull it off with your fingers.
