Styrofoam eggs are easy to decorate and last for years. Styrofoam eggs are a better choice for young children than traditional eggs because they will not break if dropped. There are hundreds of ways to decorate styrofoam eggs. Choose a decorative method that fits your decorating style, time constraints and the ages of the kids who will decorate the eggs. Provide several different kinds of decorative methods for each person to choose a decorative style.

Paint the eggs with acrylic paints. Allow the paint to dry for two hours.

Mix two parts glue and one part water. Paint the glue mixture all over the egg. Roll the eggs in glitter, glue pictures over the egg cut out from magazines or use stickers. Allow the glue to dry.

Stick sequins and beads on the eggs by placing a straight pin through the hole in the sequin or bead.

Coat blank eggs in a layer of glue. Cover the eggs in metal foil. Use silver or pastel colours to cover the eggs.

Cut out rabbit-shaped ears from paper and glue to the top of the eggs. Glue googly eyes to the end of the egg. Draw on a face and glue a pom to the back of the egg to transform the eggs into bunnies.

Glue plastic jewels or other flat objects to the eggs for a mosaic look.

Melt old crayon pieces on the stove or in the microwave. Dip the eggs into the crayon mixture to coat the eggs with a glossy finish.
