The HP Deskjet 6980 was designed with network compatibility so that you can connect several computers to the printer. To use the Deskjet 6980 on a network, you need to adjust several of the settings on the printer. When you have problems printing on the network, you can reset the settings to the factory defaults as a troubleshooting step.

Press the "Power" button to turn on the printer. The "Power" button is the leftmost button on the HP Deskjet 6980's control panel.

  2. 2

Push and hold the "Report Page" button, which is the fourth button from the left on the control panel and marked with the symbol of a piece of paper with a checkmark on it.

  3. 3

Press the "Print Cancel" button three times while holding the "Report Page" button. The "Print Cancel" button is the second button from the left and is marked with an "X" symbol. Let go of the "Report Page" button to finish resetting the printer.
