Whether you must place a parking decal on your window at your local apartment complex or parking garage, or if your child has placed stickers on surfaces around the home, you quickly learn that stickers can be difficult to remove. The adhesive holds in place firmly and can leave behind some of the sticker residue, even after removing the sticker. To remove the sticker your goal is to use something that breaks up the adhesive.

  1. 1

Soak a paper towel in white vinegar.

  2. 2

Wring out a little of the excess, open the paper towel and press it into place over the sticker.

  3. 3

Let the wet paper towel sit on top of the sticker for about 10 minutes. The vinegar naturally breaks apart the adhesive.

  4. 4

Remove the paper towel and try peeling off the sticker. If the vinegar worked, the sticker should easily peel right off.

  5. 5

Place the paper towel back onto the sticker for another 10 minutes, if the sticker is still not pulling off easily. Continue until you remove the entire sticker.

  6. 6

Rub the area with the wet vinegar-drenched paper towel after removing the sticker, to rub off any leftover sticker adhesive, and allow the surface to air dry.
