The Dell PowerVault 124T Autoloader hardware is connected and installed to your computer to help you scan bar codes and other information onto your computer. One of the primary features of the 124T is the "Auto Clean" function, which uses a cleaning tape cartridge to perform its duties. In order to eject and install a new cleaning tape cartridge, you need to perform the right functions with the 124T beforehand.

- Computer and installed 124T hardware
- New cleaning tape cartridge
Open the 124T software on the computer, and click the "Configuration" heading.
Scroll down to "Cleaning Tape," and uncheck the "Auto Clean" box by clicking it with the mouse. Press "Submit," and the 124T will automatically eject the cleaning tape cartridge.
Take the old cartridge out, and slide the new one in to install it to the computer.
Click "Configuration" again under the 124T software, scroll to "Cleaning Tape," and check the "Auto Clean" box by clicking it with the mouse. Press "Submit" to finish installing the tape.
Close the 124T software on the computer and scan bar codes or other items again with the 124T hardware.
