How to Convert Office Professional to Standard

If you have the Professional edition of Microsoft Office 2010 but only need the applications that come bundled in the Standard edition, then you can reduce the content that you do not need. This is useful if you are short of hard drive space and can do without applications such as Access or Publisher. To convert the installation, remove the elements that you do not want after you have installed the program.

    Click "Start," and then "Control Panel."

    Click "Programs," and then "Uninstall/Change."

  3. 3

    Click "Microsoft Office 2010 Professional." Click "Uninstall/Change."

  4. 4

    Deselect "Microsoft Access," and "Microsoft Publisher." If you want to remove any other aspects, then do so here.

  5. 5

    Click "Next," and wait for the Office edition to be converted and changed.
